Ofsted
Ridgeway Academy has been graded as Good in all areas

We are delighted to share with you the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 3rd and 4th June 2025. Ofsted has rated Ridgeway Academy as “Good” in all areas: Quality of education, Behaviour and attitudes, Personal development, Leadership and management, and Sixth Form provision.
We are delighted to share our Ofsted report, which recognises the hard work and significant progress we’ve made together since the previous inspection in 2023. I encourage you to read the full report, but here are a few of the highlights:
- Pupils enjoy coming to this inclusive school. They consistently embody the school’s core values of respect, responsibility and relationships in their daily interactions.
- An ambitious curriculum is in place for all pupils. Pupils engage with learning well. Lessons are calm and run smoothly.
- Pupils, including students in the sixth form, take part in a broad range of activities that further enhance their learning and leadership skills.
- Pupils enjoy and engage with the wide variety of clubs.
- There is a broad curriculum on offer for all pupils.
- Teachers deliver the curriculum well as a result of the effective training that they have received. Consistent routines and clear explanations in lessons support pupils, including those pupils with SEND, to access learning.
- The school has clearly laid-out processes to identify and provide support for pupils with SEND. Effective, extra support helps pupils to catch up.
- The school prioritises reading. Those pupils who need help to become fluent readers receive effective support.
- Positive relationships between staff and pupils are key in supporting the improvements in behaviour and attendance. Calm classroom environments support pupils to learn well.
- Students in the sixth form are positive about their experiences. They access a well-thought-out programme which supports their personal development. Students and pupils are well-prepared for life in modern Britain.
- Leaders, including the trust, are passionate about providing the best they can for pupils. The clear, shared vision for the school’s next steps is a reflection of the school’s progress.
Thank you for your ongoing encouragement, active involvement and support. Ridgeway’s success belongs to all of us; staff, students, families, our Governing Body, the Trust and our entire community. I hope you share our pride in what we have achieved together and our excitement for the future.
