Traveling to School

The vast majority of our students live within 1-2km of the school gate and we strongly encourage all of our students to walk.

This not only has environmental and health benefits, but reduces congestion and is considerate of our neighbouring residents.

Other transportation options are as follows:

Public bus

A number of public services are available that stop in the vicinity of the school. Further information about public bus services towards the school can be explored on the Intalink website.

Hertfordshire County Council promote the SaverCard scheme that provides half price bus travel for students aged 11-19. More information and how to apply can be found on their website.

Bicycles

If you would like your child to ride a bike to school parents are asked to ensure that:

  • The bike is well maintained and in a safe and roadworthy condition.
  • The students place their bike securely locked into the school bike shed during the school day.
  • Students are encouraged to wear a cycle helmet.

For safety reasons, students must walk their bicycles on footpaths in the school grounds. Failure to comply with this rule will result in permission to bring a bicycle to school being withdrawn.
Bicycles are brought to school at the owners own risk.

Cars & Motorcycles

Students in Year 11 and the 6th Form are permitted to ride or drive to school. An application form must be completed and returned to the school together with proof of licence and insurance. A permit will then be issued. Vehicles are parked on the school premises at the owners own risk.
